Way back on Wednesday 5 December 2018 a meeting was called for club members to discuss the new OO layout. a basic criteria was published prior to the meeting “The new layout has to fit in the area of the club house that Amworth was in, but it must provide space around the layout to build and maintain the layout without causing an obstruction to the gangway. The space available will determine the type and physical size of the layout.”

New Layout – Objectives

  • Control Panels need to be accessible to all and should be on outside, not in a central well.
  • Layout configuration should be suitable for exhibitions.
  • Base boards need to be exhibition standard.

During the discussions on the recommendations the following main points were identified:

  • Club to build base boards
  • Design of track plan to be agreed and interesting to operate.
  • Design of Track plan/baseboards not necessary to be limited to size to fit cars and to take to exhibitions.
  • Maybe part of total layout to conform to transportation requirements for exhibitions, with require fiddle yard(s).
  • All to provide possible track plans for discussion in new year.
